Use of the Zachman Framework for Enterprise Architecture and Business Architecture

IRMAC kicks off the Fall 2001 season with a double dose of Enterprise Architecture. The Zachman Framework for Enterprise Architecture is frequently cited as a common reference framework for classifying architectural views and artefacts, and many businesses are adopting the framework as a ground for their architectural programs.

IRMAC is pleased to present Sandy McBride, a Partner with Chartwell Group, and John Bruder, a Senior Consultant with the same firm. Sandy and John will discuss their experiences developing and applying Row 1 Scope and Row 2 Conceptual models in a variety of consulting engagements. Sandy and John will speak at length on the subject of business architecture and will discuss:

the selection of an appropriate “analytic target” for a particular instance of a framework,
the significance of primitive and composite artefacts in the development of conceptual business models,
the distinctions between architecture and design as they relate to artefact development
