The April 3rd meeting of IRMAC's Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing SIG will feature "Secrets of Data Integration". At this session we will explore the myth that all data should be derived from "the authoritative source", and discuss why this is not only impractical for reference information (Customer, Supplier, Product etc.) it is also a key inhibitor of information reliability.
The session will be lead by Martin Dunn, the CEO of Delos Technology. Martin brings 15 years of international data warehousing, OLAP and repository experience. He is a lecturer for MBA courses, and a popular presenter of DAMA workshops. Martin will discuss the benefits and significant challenges of building the DW from multiple sources. Through a case study he will explore how this approach delivered a 360 degree view of customer that produced significant, quantifiable business benefits in its first year.
