For the second meeting of the Meta Data SIG, we will be exchanging tips & hints. All interested IRMAC members are invited to present either a Best Practise or a Worst Practise. If you could give just one piece of advice about metadata, what would it be?
This is your chance to be an IRMAC presenter with very little effort. You can present about metadata in your company or organization, or a previous employer. Consultants and software vendors can speak about client organizations. Use your best judgement about naming the organization!
After each speaker, there will be a brief discussion. If there is significant interest in an item, it will be put in a Parking Lot for a future Meta Data SIG meeting.
To make it easy for you to participate, please use the attached slide template, and limit your presentation to the 4 slides provided. Submit your Best Practise or Worst Practise to by December 18. She will compile the slides and facilitate the round-table discussion.
Alana Boltwood is an Information Architect at Management Board Secretariat, Government of Ontario. She spoke to IRMAC last January about XML and Common Data Elements.
Meeting: Wednesday, January 8, 2003, 4:30-6:30 pm
The Meta Data SIG is for IRMAC members. Non-members are welcome to "try us out" for one session, and join IRMAC afterwards.
Location: The Ontario Club, 5th Floor, Commerce Court South 30 Wellington Street West (Bay and Wellington), Toronto.
After the session, we will have an optional "Meet your Meta-Colleagues" dinner at a nearby restaurant. (This is pay-as-you-go.) Please contact if you can suggest a restaurant suitable for a group, in or near Commerce Court.
