Advanced decision tools such as credit scoring provides a "win-win" for any financial institutions to increase customer satisfaction, lower costs, more sales, and a much better understanding of risk characteristics. The ability to invest in advanced decision systems is what will separate the future winners from the losers in the financial market. This seminar has been created to provide an understanding of the application of data mining in credit scoring and also a new concept termed "On-line Credit Scoring".
Saed Sayad is the President of iSmartsoft Inc. a start-up data mining company (www.ismartsoft.com) and an adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. Since 1990, Saed has been involved in many scientific and business applications of data mining. He is a member of the Data Mining in Engineering group at the University of Toronto and co-presents a graduate data mining course. Saed has worked as an IT consultant in many enterprise level projects for a variety of companies, including ADP Canada, Royal Bank, HP Canada, Compaq Canada, CIBC, Ontario Power Generation, and Sprint Canada.
