Information System Issues in Business Process Reengineering

Keith Ellis of IDC Canada will present a BPR from three perspectives: that of the Strategy, Systems, and People. He will concentrate on those aspects relating to the follow on systems development projects that emerge from BPR projects

We will deal with issues such as: at what point do IS people become involved; what contribution are they be expected to make; and how the transition is made from the conceptual BPR work to information systems development.

Reflections on a DAMA Conference

After our break, IRMAC member Dan Prowse will present his reflections on this year's Data Administration Management Association Conference that was held in Vancouver during May. Dan has been with Dofasco since 1978 and has been actively involved in IRM for over 11 years. He position is now that of development consultant. As such, his main interest in attending the conference was to gain insights from the 'giants' of IRM as to where they believe we are going as we prepare to enter the 21st Century. Dan will share with us his own thoughts on the conference as he reflects that the information he attained left him both more informed and more confused.
