State of the Union - Data Warehousing

On Tuesday, January 19th, Fred Neufeld of SUN Microsystems, will be presenting to the Data Warehouse SIG of IRMAC The presentation is entitled: "State of the Union --- Data Warehousing". Topics to be covered include:

PROFILE:

Fred's position at Sun Microsystems is to promote data warehousing and support Sun's customers from a technical perspective. Fred is a systems engineer who focuses on the data warehouse arena. Part of his job is to stay current with the latest trends and direction in data warehousing, this includes both software (tools) and hardware development. Since building a data warehouse is a processes and not simply a hardware or software solution, Fred also spends time meeting and working with partners to ensure that Sun Microsystems can provide a total data warehouse solution to their customers. Before joining Sun Microsystems, Fred worked for a data warehouse integrator building data warehouses. Fred worked on a number of data warehouse projects with customers. His major focus was on the data warehouse "discovery phase" of the project. Helping the customer identify and develop the project charter (eg. identify the business drivers, information needs, etc.) and rolling out their first iteration.
