Business Intelligence and the Web – How Do You Want Your Information?

This session will address key issues relating moving corporate data to the Web. Tom Camps will discuss how the Internet has created new opportunities for distribution of management information, bringing with it new issues and challenges as well. Where is the technology today? Where is it going? This presentation examines how the industry uses the Web today to bring business intelligence to a widely distributed audience. It examines what deployment challenges to overcome, which remain to be solved, and how changes in the technology will continue to alter the working behavior of employees who rely on corporate information to make informed decisions. The focus is on practical issues which include content creation and organization, distribution options and security. Also discussed will be an overview of the potential value provided by advances in business intelligence such as data warehousing, data mining, forecasting, data analysis and OLAP.


Tom Camps brings nearly two decades of high technology experience to Cognos as director, Product Management. He possesses extensive leadership and technical experience.

Former high technology experience includes senior associate at a high technology PR Agency, director of management and product development for a small software company, product manager, and Senior Software Developer at Mainframe software company.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in math and statistics
