Business Rules Automation

As Ronald Ross explained to IRMAC last month, the Business Rules Approach is at the leading edge of information engineering. To follow through, we’ve invited Usoft, an industry leader in the emerging Business Rules Automation market, to describe their philosophy and how Business Rules based development is enabling I.T. organisations to deliver applications which reflect, support and advance the Business. Usoft’s mission is to provide a business-driven approach coupled with non-procedural software technology, including complete support of the Internet/Intranet.

USoft will present and demonstrate a Business Rules based development environment that gives users the ability to define, capture and store Business Rules in a single repository with no further programming necessary to fire and process those Rules.

Frank Pitsikalis has been working with the USoft toolset in both a consulting and presales role. First with TopSystems and, since 1992, with USoft. Frank was the lead architect and project manager at York University’s USoft implementation of their Student Accounts Receivable System (STARS). Prior to joining USoft Frank was at Ernst &Young as an I.T. Management Consultant.

Brenda Coleman has held several senior software sales positions in the Toronto area prior to joining USoft in 1995, including Account Executive at Ernst & Young in their Information Engineering Practice.
