Enterprise Integration: Maximising the Utility of Data for Business
Join us on Wednesday, November 21st for a stimulating session focussed on Enterprise Application Integration and featuring presentations from an integration tool vendor and a client whom has used the tools to accomplish application integration.
Jim Wallace is a senior architect for Software AG (SAG), currently assigned to the companys Independent Software Vendor Enablement and Support group. Jim will be presenting “Enterprise Integration: Maximizing the Utility of Data for Business”. He will begin with a brief assessment of data availability within the enterprise and an evaluation of the historical approaches to solving this problem. This will lead into a discussion of low data latency and process oriented approaches, emphasising near real time solutions. Jim will take a look at various enterprise integration patterns and how they may apply to the problem; concluding with an high level view of available integration toolsets and how they impact data management.
Eva Swenson is Director, Student Information Systems at the University of Toronto. She is responsible for the operation, maintenance and enhancement of ROSI, the information system through which the University manages its records on the academic achievements and progress of its students. Eva will discuss the use of SAG integration products at the University of Toronto, and how they have contributed to solving some of their issues for moving data between applications in a timely fashion. This will be set within the context of the IT infrastructure at the university and their business issues. With the help of Terry Riopelle of Software AG, she will shed some light on some of the challenges of working with a beta version of a major new software product and applying it to critical enterprise requirements.
So mark your calendars for the morning of November 21st and plan on joining us at the Ontario Club for some stories about Enterprise Application Integration.
