Entrepreneurs Night

We searched high and low to find the innovative solutions that our peers have accomplished and we’re bringing them to the IRMAC Data Warehouse/ Business Intelligence SIG. The night will compose of two guests who will highlight the situation and problem they faced, outline their solution and provide a demo of their solution followed by question and answers. Our guests for the evening will be Hannan Chervinsky and Corry Pistea. Your input is also welcome!

HANNAN CHERVINSKY

ABS Systems Consultants Ltd.

Hannan is a Principal, Co-founder of ABS System Consultants Ltd., and is head of its Data Warehouse and Performance Measurement Practice since 1983.

Building on a diverse background and experience, including Process Re-engineering and Data Modeling, has developed expertise in optimal usage of technology to address the business needs and issues.

His work addresses the information needs at all levels of the decision making process, i.e. strategic, management Control, and operational performance.

Hannan has lead major Data Warehousing and Performance Measurement projects in both the public and private sectors with resounding success. This has culminated in the development and deployment of ABS’ Packaged Analytical Solution ‘Govmetrics3D’ at the Ministry of Education in the form of the ‘STARS’ system. ‘STARS’ provides the Ministry with an integrated analytical platform for policy programs planning and performance measurement, specifically geared toward business users. ‘STARS’ won the award for Technical Innovation at the ‘Show Case Ontario’ and was made available for deployment at all OPS organizations. .

Hannan has published numerous articles in the areas of Data Warehousing and Performance Measurement and was a speaker in various conferences. He holds a B.A. degree in Statistics and a MBA with specialization in Operation Research and Decision Support Systems.

CORRY PISTEA

PowerSys Canada Inc.

Corry Pistea is the founder of PowerSys Canada Inc. providing software innovations, reporting solutions, and consulting since 1997.

Working on the Enterprise Data Warehouse projects, Corry has developed EDW ANALYZER, an analytical software that provides the Business Analysts, Modelers, and Clients with must-have accurate information regarding quality, population levels, and reliability of source data. This software has been widely used in the development of Data Marts.

Corry has participated in diverse projects for different industries, initially focusing on software development and reporting systems. One of the major projects include the development and implementation of a Java Reporting System. Since 2000, Corry has been focusing on Enterprise Data Warehousing. He has participated and contributed to the development and implementation of Supply Management System Data Mart, and Financial Data Mart. He has contributed to the Enterprise Data Warehousing providing Data Quality Analysis, Data Modeling, and Testing and Solution Findings.
