Explore Ways of Strengthening Your Information Resource Career Value: A Workshop

Today’s fast paced business environment has frequently resulted in Information Resource professionals feeling under-valued, at risk of downsizing, outsourcing, or being downgraded into a corporate “backwater.” At the same time, Government, share holders, and Regulators are demanding more accurate corporate information, and threatening Executives who cannot produce reliable data. What is behind this disconnect? How can we enhance the perceived value of our services and safeguard/enhance our career potential?

One of the greatest opportunities available to an IRMAC member is to network knowledge, lessons, tips, insight, opportunities, alternatives, and visions with other members. This session will draw extensively on audience participation and networking. You will leave with a new insight into your own career value, along with tips to maximize your strengths and the perception of them by decision makers.

The session will be facilitated by Bill Chadwick, PMP. Bill is currently teaching Business Intelligence at the University of Toronto, and is the Co-Chair of IRMAC’s Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse Special Interest Group. Bill is a recipient of the Canadian Infrormation Productivity Award, the International Smithsonian Award for Innovative use of Technology, Bell Canada’s CORE Award (for getting to the core of a major business problem), and twice winner of Bell Sygma’s Apex 100 Award (for scoring 100% customer satisfaction on user surveys).
